Lees-McRae College has a very active summer camp program that opens the College’s athletic facilities, as well as residential and dining service accommodations, to camp participants during the summer months in the mountains of northwest North Carolina. The region also features several excellent recreational opportunities for campers while staying on the Lees-McRae campus, which has the highest elevation of any college or university in the Eastern United States.
Please find the currently scheduled athletic camps for the summer of 2013 below:
Boys Basketball (TBA): A day camp offering an emphasis on individual instruction in all facets of the game. The camp is open to players ages 7-17. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Boys Team Basketball Camp (June 17-18): Lees-McRae men’s basketball will host a team camp for high school ages players. The camp will feature instructional time, as well as games between teams. Players and coaches will stay in Less-McRae residential facilities with all meals provided.
Girls Basketball (Dates to be announced): A day camp offering an emphasis on individual instruction of all facets of the game. The camp is open to players ages 7-17. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Boys Lacrosse (July 7-11): Lees-McRae Men’s Lacrosse team welcomes a Boys Lacrosse Camp to its second summer in Banner Elk. This camp features a chance to enjoy the many recreational facilities around the Lees-McRae campus. Campers will stay in Lees-McRae residential facilities, and all meals are provided.

Learning doesn’t stop in the summer, especially for area youth. ASU provides some of the best and most diverse camp experiences for children throughout the state.
Sports Camps via Office of Conference & Camp Services – variety of sports, held throughout the year, for all ages. The Office of Conference and Camp Services offers many sports camps throughout the fall, spring, and summer. Some of these camps include girls and boys basketball, girls and boys soccer, field hockey, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling. Appalachian Pathways– summer day camps for youth ages 5-12
Cannon Music Camp-Cannon Music Camp, based in the Mariam Cannon Hayes School of Music, provides the most comprehensive course of musical instruction in the Southeast, with intensive college preparatory work in performance and music theory. The three-week summer camp for rising high school freshmen through seniors stresses ensemble performance, and provides experiences in choir, orchestra, band, jazz, and chamber music.
Camp UREC– UREC Academy is a program of University Recreation which offers youth of the High Country ages 7 to 17 years the opportunity to experience one-on-one training in sports they enjoy or hope to excel in. Youth can gain fundamental knowledge in each of the sports we offer. Sport learning opportunities include Basketball Personal Training, Volleyball Personal Training, and Soccer. Training levels are geared for beginner, intermediate, and advanced athletes.
High Country Recreation:
